We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join this team develop electro optical camera modules and connector solutions.
Requirements:
Ideally we are looking for candidates with a minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical design for high volume electronics packaging.
Skills & Experience required:
- 3-D CAD modelling skills (ideally using IDEAS or CATIA)
- Must be able to produce and read 2D drawings and be familiar with BS308 drawing standards
- Knowledge of Tolerance analysis of mechanical parts and assemblies using both conventional and RSS methods.
- Plastic moulding design and manufacturing process for thin walled mouldings
- Knowledge of plastic materials
- Pressed metal part design of small components for progression tool manufacturing process
- Knowledge of plating materials and methods of application.
- General mechanical skills for a high volume production environment
- Ability to work with suppliers and customers
- Ideally some basic knowledge of lens design and how digital cameras work.
Knowledge of the following PC based tools would be an advantage (but not essential):-
Microsoft:- Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Other tools used on a daily basis are:-
Lotus Notes
Product data management system
Candidates must be willing to travel to support customer programs, vendor technical meetings and production factory audits.
